From Failure to Success: How I Learned the Hard Way



Hi! My name is Matt Cilderman and I’m a “Creative” just like you. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not special or extraordinary. However, despite being so normal, in just a few short years, I have been able to:

  • Leverage relationships to win hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of contracts for my business while working with a number of million-dollar brands.
  • Get my writing/content featured on various websites and publishing platforms, reaching hundreds of millions of people
  • Start a relationship with Chris Do, work with Ben Burns, and eventually have my products (Blogging for Creative Entrepreneurs and the Personal Funnels Live Workshop) sold by the Futur.



But things haven’t always been great...I really struggled in the beginning. Do these mistakes sound familiar?

  • I posted a lot on social media but just felt like I was adding to the noise instead of getting leads and building my business..
  • I spent a lot of valuable time at local networking events, trying to meet business owners but never really formed profitable relationships.
  • I still cringe when I remember trying to play the part of the confident salesman: Too many times, I expected people to agree to a $30,000.00 website the first time they met me. You know, “Always be Closing!” I realize now that would be like asking someone to marry you on the first date.


I failed miserably because I didn’t have a repeatable process, (I hadn’t yet created Personal Funnels)...and that’s what you’ll learn!


My goal is to teach you what it took me over a decade to learn

A little More About Our Founder, Matt Cilderman


I bet you’ll be surprised to know that I am a full-time public school teacher. I am not sure where you are from but here in the U.S., they don’t often pay teachers very well. So, over 10 years ago, I decided to start freelancing.


I started freelance writing for a website that only paid me 1 cent per page view (It’s ok to laugh…It’s kind of embarrassing). During that time, I learned search engine optimization (SEO) and social media as a way to promote the articles.


Eventually, I got tired of the low pay and the publisher’s system and I decided to freelance on my own.


I realized I had a personal connection to a small business that didn’t yet have any social media presence. I leveraged that personal connection, got a meeting with management, and started my journey managing their social media accounts. 


Since I didn’t have a lot of experience, we agreed that I would mainly be paid based on results (increased monthly followers, engagement, etc.) I didn’t have much experience (especially when it came to writing contracts) and I eventually got burned out working so many hours for low pay. Either way, I kept growing and kept learning!


Over the next 5 years, I transitioned to an agency, connected with a number of different mentors and amazing people who changed my life. Leveraging these relationships helped me 10X my revenue!


During that time, I realized that I could leave teaching and easily make more money by focusing on the agency. However, I love teaching and helping people…and so I continued working both jobs.


Eventually, through my relationship with The Futur, I realized I could combine my love of helping people and teaching with my knowledge of entrepreneurship and marketing.


I have created the Personal Funnels products to teach you what it took me over a decade to learn.
